East London is counting down the hours until it welcomes its latest venue Made in the Shade – a new cocktail bar opening in the old pleasure gardens of Pimlico alehouse in Hoxton.
The creation of Jeremy Thompson Jewitt (a certified cocktail connoisseur), Jim Wrigley (an award winning bartender) and Peter Lewis – Made in the Shade will be serving up eclectic cocktails using ingredients such as lavender and pine syrup and finishing them off with perfectly formed ice spears which have been shaven off 30kg block. In the kitchen, chef Patrick Williams will be cooking up moreish English plates which have a distinctive Caribbean flavour – dishes will include oxtail spring rolls and slow – cooked calamari with herb polenta and curry mutton with rice and peas.
The guys’ main focus is the experience guests have; so Made in the Shade will never be over filled or over crowded – you’ll never have to shout to be heard by your friend sat next to you, you’ll never end up jostling with the guy next to you just to try and get to the bar and you won’t have to try and manoeuvre slalom style through the crowds with your drinks. If you want to just while away a Saturday afternoon on the sofas with drinks you can, if you want to take your friends on at pool then do or just want to laze in the sun in the garden – sounds good to us!
