Every Saturday starting at the eccentric time at 3.01pm promptly, Mr Fogg’s will be running a Victorian themed afternoon tea.
The absolute height of fashion an odd 170 years ago and created by the seventh Duchess of Bedford as an answer to the hunger inevitable between lunch and dinner the acclaimed Mayfair bar will follow suit this April.
Hosted by the resident Duchess (who may even pour the tea herself) a fine selection of teas, sandwiches, cakes and petit fours will be on offer, presented in equal grace on three tiered stands. Delights are set to include cucumber, corination chicken, smoked salmon, Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle cake, macaroons, marzipan and glossy glace fruits.
In addition and in a naughty twist on the quintessentially British past time will be the range of tea infused cocktails on offer. Served in teapots make sure you try the ‘1840’ a zingy blend of Earl Grey infused Tanqueray No 10 Gin, Cointreau, creme de peche and orange marmalade. Or perhaps a Woburn Abbey is more you? A cocktail featuring the same Tanqueray No 10 Gin in addition to unique ingredients such as bee pollen sugar.
Gentlemen pack your calling cards and Ladies don’t you dare think about leaving home without your gloves (outrageous!) , The Duchess and Mr Fogg are eagerly awaiting your arrival.
The tea will be served every Saturday between the hours of 3.01pm and 6.01pm priced at £25 per person or £35 per person with a tea cocktail of your choosing.
