At the end of April watch as the East End of London magically transforms into the back streets of South America for Cambalache’s One Night in Argentina.
Running off the developing trend of immersive wine events and after a sell out debut last year the team are back with a wine tasting like you’ve never seen before. Hosted by some of the team behind Heston Blumenthal’s 'The Big Feast', Barry Smith and Charles Spence, experience them match different wines with music to enhance the flavour.
This innovative approach to taste only continues in the array of food on offer all evening. In a move that officially quashes the rumour that Argentina only does steak, sample mouth watering Patagonian lamb, traditional barbecue empanadas and even learn how to make your very own chimichurri sauce. Maybe then retire for a cocktail in the glamorous 1940s cocktail lounge or sample one of the twenty seven flavours in their very own ice cream parlour.
Wine drunk and bellies full, feel free to then hop over to digest some authentic Argentinian culture in a wonderfully Bohemian cafe complete with Spanish library. Here talks on celebrated writer Jorge Luis Borges will take place. Or alternatively hop over to the famous San Telmo antiques market if you fancy your chances at haggling, all to the sound of a live folk band. Finally let yourself get swept up in the Buenos Aires nightclub with leading dancers performing and teaching Nuevo Tango.
A real one off chance to experience all the complexity, warmth and beauty of Argentina’s past, present and future.
The event will take place between 30th April and the 1st of May with tickets priced £40, including all food and drink. They are available at www.winesofargentina.com
