We have some good news: due to its huge success Kitchen Theory have announced that they will be extending their dinner series of 2014. ‘KAISEKI by Kitchen Theory’ at the House of Wolf in Islington until June!
So if you were one of those people who missed out on tickets, panic not! And for those who didn’t know about it 1) why not? 2) well here is your chance. Kaiseki also known as kaiseki-ryōri, is the name given to a traditional multi-course Japanese dinner service and can be traced as the origins of the western concept of tasting menus. Since it is also a multisensory experience they have collaborated with renowned artist Aerosyn- Lex who has worked with the likes of Kanye West and Fashion house KENZO, to showcase his art and videos.
The nights start with a showing of Aerosyn-Lex’s short film, Svriptura vitae, which has been commissioned by Channel 4 before the multi-course experimental dinner. Dishes from the menu include Yakimono (a selection of Yakitori grills), Sunimono (sea bed seaweed salad),Agimono (tempura selection served with Konomono-Nukazuke- Japanese style pickles) and Gohan- uruchimai (Japanese rice) squid ink risotto.
And as this is no ordinary meal expect to find an edible Japanese garden, and a very long noodle piped into a consommé to represent eternal life….
