May Dinners at Blenheim Palace

In answer to that famous question of who from history you’d most like to have dinner with, we wonder how many people would answer Winston Churchill?

Famous for his sparkling wit and no nonsense approach we are sure he’d make fantastic dinner party company and it appears Blenheim Palace do to! Inspired by the Briton, the  30th May will see a Churchill Dinner complete with the next best thing in the form of a Churchill lookalike.

With some of Churchill’s favourite dishes on the menu, guests will start off with a smoked salmon blini and champagne reception before enjoying roast supreme Norfolk guinea fowl and will finish off poached pears in warm chocolate sauce. Finally in a move staying loyal to the man who once said ‘I drink and smoke and I am two hundred percent healthy’ a dose of Churchill port will finish the night off. 

In addition to this Churchill night a decadent Champagne dinner also looks to be on the agenda for this May. Hosted by Brigitte Hennessey, International Brand Ambassador for the Laurent Perrier Champagne House an exquisite menu consisting of four courses will be expertly matched with  different Champagnes. Served in the Marlborough Room on the 22nd of May, menu highlights will include a twice baked Oxford Blue souffle and a pan-fried turbot with tempura oyster and caviar Beurre Blanc. 

Couples who are looking to book the beautiful Blenheim Palace before the end of spring, then you are in luck as they are offering a discount on room hire in the Orangery on the few days still available in May. With stunning views across The Duke of Marlborough’s private Italian Gardens, the Orangery makes for an elegant reception venue throughout the day and evening.
