However, people who definitely appreciate this are the team at The Corinthia Hotel who will be launching a little project called ‘The Sleep Menu’ this month. Aiming to combat long working hours and sky high caffiene consumption with a specially designed meal plan, hotel guests and visiting diners are guaranteed to finish with a fantastic snooze.
Using quality ingredients, Garry Hollihead will create a carefully balanced menu including protein to kick that caffeine craving and foods rich in magnesium to help relax the muscles and mind. Starting off with breakfast The Sleep Menu will include a blueberry protein shake with flaxseed, almonds, Brazil nuts and walnuts to help promote healthy sleep from point go. Carry on to an evening meal where main dishes will include roast hake with smoked haddock, spring onion risotto and curried veloute alongside poached duck eggs with fondant potatoes, celeriac, wil mushrooms with new season garlic all designed to aid a peaceful rest.
And because we all need a bit of taking care of sometimes, wind down with a bedtime snack of sunflower seed butter, banana and pumpkinseed cookie with Horlicks milk all from the comfort of your bed.
