Whether rain or shine there’s nothing we love more than sitting outside, heated by the rare sighted summer sun or by toasty heating lamps in the cooler months. The Handbook took on the arduous task of checking out London’s top terraces.
This gastro pub has a quirky interior which originally held a terrace but due to the tragic weather we endure in the UK it was converted into a conservatory so it could be enjoyed all year round. In the summer months the sun will fill this pretty space with light where guests can enjoy the extensive cocktail menu and seasonal British food. www.theparadise.co.uk
Honky Tonk Clapham
Our new favourite creation that has been hitting London recently is taking something delicious; say a milkshake, and adding a dash of booze. Lucky for us then, that Honky Tonk will be serving alcoholic milkshakes at their new Sundowner Terrace when it opens 15th May. There will also be delicious cocktails and heavenly Honky Dogs straight from the Honky Tonk Honky Cart. www.honkytonklondon.com
Due to open 1st May, we cannot wait for this trendy Outdoor Grill & Bar to open its doors to feed us Kimchi Hotdogs, Frozen Habanero Margaritas and Frozen Negronis. They don’t take reservations but on arrival you can decide whether you want to sit in the sun or shade – uh nearest to the sun as possible please, this tan needs to last another sunless year. www.shrimpys.co.uk
A classic terrace destination, boasting sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of King’s Road, guests are welcome to enjoy the al fresco dining from breakfast all the way through to dinner. We suggest even dropping by for a glass of Champagne, while unwinding and soaking up the sun in this pretty terrace. On the slim (ha!) chance that the sunshine doesn’t last the whole summer, Bluebird will turn on the heaters and guests can snuggle under blankets while looking at the stars. www.bluebird-restaurant.co.uk
An oasis from the city where you can treat yourself to al fresco dining (we recommend the Lobster roll) and full table service. Hush also host Classics in the Courtyard, a series of retro film screenings. Check out the news section on their website to see future screenings. www.hush.co.uk
