Avenue launches Saturday ‘Drunch’

Avenue launches Saturday ‘Drunch’

It’s true what they say breakfast is the best way to start the day or if it’s the weekend then the best way to spend the day. And over at Avenue in St James, they know that too, which is why they’ve recently launched their new weekend ‘drunch’ menu.

Not quite breakfast, dinner or lunch, the menu features a whole smorgasbord of new American inspired dishes such as fresh fruit salad, fresh granola with thick creamy Greek yoghurt, big stacks of waffles or fluffy buttermilk pancakes with maple sauce and bacon or berries and crème fraiche (go for the bacon, you know you want to). If you want something a little heartier then there is there mac and cheese with truffle which you absolutely have to try as they’re on to a winner with that one, and The Avenue Black Angus Hamburger which you can have with bacon and applewood smoked cheddar.

For pudding you can build your own sundae, choose two flavours of ice cream or gelato (we recommend chocolate brownie and peanut butter ice-cream), a sauce – think raspberry, strawberry, caramel and topping (go for the popcorn!) and hey presto!

Order a juice or coffee or if you want to really celebrate not having to go to work, for an extra £10 you can add unlimited Prosecco or Bloody Marys, but hey it’s a Saturday and you don’t have anywhere to be, eat, drink, drink a bit more, order some toast and just while away the day, so maybe ‘drunch’ is a drunk brunch then?
