Tate Britain Summer Picnics

Tate Britain Summer Picnics

There is something gloriously British about picnics, a summer without a picnic is no summer at all. So it’s good news then that the iconic Tate Britain restaurant Rex Whistler, has launched a brand new summer picnic menu that comes with a Clovelly hamper and picnic blanket to enjoy as you soak up the sun out on its lawn. The baskets are filled to the brim with best of British produce, all handpicked from artisan suppliers from right across the country.

Specifically chosen cured meats including smoked duck and Suffolk salami, cheeses from Gloucestershire and Wales, freshly prepared smoked salmon pâté and tangy ale chutney are all perfectly paired with a selection of breads and savoury crackers, the days of squished sandwiches are long gone. You can also find British strawberries, Cornish clotted cream, handmade scones and raspberry jam in your hamper, afternoon tea in a picnic? Genius!

The Rex Picnic area is open until September, with picnics served daily between 12 pm and 3pm, and drinks served between 12 pm and 5pm.
