Giles Deacon at Kensington Palace

Any modern day Elizabeth Bennett deserves an equally stylish outfit to meet Mr Darcy, and with legendary British fashion designer Giles Deacon’s latest Georgian inspired collection, they might just find it. Yes, Austen lovers on 22nd October, The Kensington Palace will be host to a Baroque inspired fashion show abound with elaborate corsets, extravagant silhouettes and structured tailoring.

Set in the palace’s Vanbrugh designed Orangery, the event is part of ‘The Glorious George’s’ showcase, celebrating the 300th anniversary of the Hanoverian ascension to the throne. Whilst inspired by the Georgian period, the collection will be anything but historic, with each piece highlighting the relevance of the Georgian trends on the fashion scene today. Think, dense florals, sumptuous lace and graphic prints and you are on the right track or should we say catwalk. As we all know, any great outfit is not complete without some accessories and with celebrity milliner Stephen Jones in tow, the accessories are set to be a royal treat.

Deacon’s collection will certainly take its place in the fashion history of Kensington Palace-which over centuries has opened its doors to so many of the fashion elite so be sure to grab a front row seat.
