Hurrah it’s National Chocolate week, where the rules are you have to consume as much chocolate as humanly possible – see it as preparation for Christmas. Chocolate isn’t just for eating though, oh no it’s for drinking and writing and covering yourself in (yes you did read that right) here is The Handbook’s guide to 5 things to do this week rather than just eat a bar of chocolate:
Divine Chocolate Spa
If you think chocolate is just for eating, you’d be wrong it makes a rather excellent scrub too, which is why the K West hotel is offering a Divine Day package at their spa. Start with a 55 minute dark chocolate and sea salt body scrub and dark chocolate and honey balm massage before heading to the K Lounge for a Divine chocolate and chilli martini and of course leave with a bar of Divine chocolate… click here to see what we thought of the treatment. Available 13th – 19th October www.k-west.co.uk
Chocolate Espresso Martini
The espresso martini, perfect for when you don’t quite know whether a cocktail or coffee is what you need, if in doubt it is always better to have both and this week it is being made even more delicious with the addition of chocolate. Yup, Paramount bar just off Tottenham Court Road will be serving up Chocolate Espresso Martinis all this week. Available 13th -19th October www.paramount.uk.net
Lancaster London have also teamed up with Divine chocolate and will be serving up Divine Chocolate pots and plates piled high with chocolate as part of their puddings for diners in Island Grill. If you want a whole meal of chocolate (and who doesn’t?) then head to the Lounge where they will be serving chocolate afternoon tea with chocolate and orange scones and a baked dark chocolate and banana tart. Available 13th – 19th October www.lancasterlondon.com
Foxcroft and Ginger Cake Pops
These aren’t just any cake pops, oh no these are healthy cake pops, well as healthy as chocolate can be and why? Because they include fresh beetroot, but don’t be put off by that, it makes them super moist and adds plenty of texture and you can’t even really taste the beetroot. Grab some on your lunch break for the 4pm slump. Available 13th – 19th October www.foxcroftandginger.co.uk
Here’s a different one for you, chocolate calligraphy, yes that’s right writing in chocolate. If you ever wanted to give it a go and who wouldn’t after seeing the piping skills in Bake Off? All we’re saying is Nancy was a pretty impressive… then head to Rococo’s Belgravia boutique this Saturday to master the art and be the envy of your baking club. Happening 18th October www.rococochocolates.com
