He came from deepest darkest Peru and wound up in London with his now iconic duffle coat, red hat and battered old suitcase. And now the most well-travelled and adventurous bear, Paddington is back and taking to the big screen with his very first film released on 28th November and to celebrate this Aqua Shard has created the Paddington Afternoon Tea.

Head chef Anthony Garlando has used both London and Peruvian influences to create the special tea which is served Monday to Friday, so expect London taxis cakes flavoured with chilli and chocolate, a Victorian sponge Battenburg and Paddington praline cream bun.

Of course no Paddington tea would be complete without a good scoop of marmalade or two, so alongside strawberry and Tahitian vanilla jam, the orange blossom and raisin scones are served with marmalade and the macaroons to follow are marmalade flavoured too.

The tea will also compliments the Paddington Trail, where celebrities, designers and artists have each designed a Paddington statues which will be placed throughout London, including at The Shard and then auctioned off for NSPCC. The trail which features the 50 statues will encourage fans to explore London, just as Paddington does and to see London in a new light.

Afternoon tea is served Monday to Friday between 3-5pm and is priced at £34.50 per person, or opt for the Champagne afternoon tea with a glass of Veuve Clicquot ‘Yellow Label’ Brut Champagne is £45.
