Shaken Not Stirred: Artistic Cocktails at Mark’s Bar

Since the launch of Hixter Bankside earlier this summer, Mark Hix has drawn on the restaurant’s artistic setting to revolutionise not only British dining, but also British art- combining the two to make what we think is an agreeable mix. His latest venture ‘Mark’s Bar’, situated in the artistic basement below Hixter Bankside is no different with a selection of new cocktails that will get any art enthusiast’s tongue wagging.

To celebrate Frieze London, Hix has invited a collection of Britain’s most popular contemporary artists such as Tim Noble, Gary Webb and Pauline Amos to his artist studio and asked them to create their own canvas of cocktails. Tipples such as ‘The Amos Lip’, ‘Tim’s Margarita’, and ‘The Webb Slinger’ put an artistic twist on old time favourites, proving there are many different facets to an artist’s palette. Hidden surprises such as ice balls with frozen olives (Webb Slinger) and the inclusion of squid ink (Tim’s Margarita), will certainly add some drama to your favourite cocktails, and are definitely worth a try.

Each cocktail is £9.50 and will be available to try throughout the month of October.
