Halloween: the most terrifying night of the year. However, we cannot help but notice in recent years, this holiday (can we call it a holiday), has not been all that scary, What’s more, it is so easy to get wrong and if interpreted incorrectly can end up being cheesier than One Direction and 5 Days of Summer combined. Yes, in the past few years, Halloween has not lived up to its reputation, with blatant attempts of horror and hideous excuses for costumes (adding cat ears is not a costume) taking all the allure out of the evening. What the evening needs is a throwback to classic horror films where just the right amount of trick and treat can be found. Think, mysterious vixens, temptous villains, and terrifying ghouls.
However, this year, things look set to change. Let us present: The Halloween Ball. This one night event comes from the team of The Mansion London; the first ‘night house’ that puts on exclusive themed parties across the capital. The decadent event, which will be based in a secret location in Holborn promises a night of fear and debauchery that will bring guests out in goose bumps. Old fashioned horror films will be projected across the two-storey venue set against a backdrop of vampires and complimented by DJ and live performances from the likes of legendary DJ Femi Fem and jazz sax player Giacomo Smith. The international psychic Laura Boyle will be in tow to add some drama to the event revealing dark secrets whilst guests take part in an evening of revelry. The party will also feature an exhibition from the international multidisciplinary London based artist, Christina Mitrentse.
Of course, fancy dress is on the agenda with the best costume being rewarded accordingly. Think big, after all Baron Vrykolakas, the mysterious host of the evening has noted that only the wild, fanciful and exquisite reveller will be invited.
Tickets start at £19.50 and can be found here.

Florence was once kicked out of ballet for being a little too over-enthusiastic. She's just landed in London, and whilst she is not going to be the winner of Strictly Come Dancing anytime soon, she can still be found tapping her Chelsea boots all over the capital.
