Forget après-ski, this year it is all about après-skate and Fortnum’s Lodge is the perfect place in which to practice. Based in the west wing of Somerset House, Fortnum’s Lodge will be on guard to provide the people with London with a fun and festive winter retreat- you don’t even have to have tickets for the ice rink to get in on the action, meaning no unwanted falls…at least not from the ice itself- we can’t say the same after a few of their cocktail tipples!
Open from 10am until late, The Lodge, is a family friendly restaurant where you can while away the Christmas hours whilst pretending you are on holiday in Switzerland. You will find all of the Fortnum and Mason classics, from their famous Welsh rarebit to Lobster and Prawn Burgers. However, when it comes to the hot chocolate, the reigns are being handed over to you. The culinary team dare you to create the Ulitmate Hot Chocolate aptly named ‘The Chocolossus’. Go with a group of friends and do a mini- choc off, competing for the best winter warmer.
When the lights go down and the ice rink closes, that’s when the après-skate will really come to life with the help of a Mince Pie Martini and Bee’s Knees Cocktail made from the honey harvested by bees from the rooftop at Piccadilly. There will even be some tipsy chocolate and for those not wanting to let go of the slopes a cheese fondue or two.
Sign us up now please.
The Lodge will be open until 11th January.
