Cheese, Glorious Cheese at Verden

Cheese, glorious cheese…here at The Handbook we cannot get enough of the stuff which is we were delighted to hear about Verden, a new restaurant led by Head Chef Tom Fraser (ex-Scott’s) in Clapton. The restaurant, which has its very own cold-room vaults in the basement, specialises in three of our favourite things: cheese, wine and charcuterie. Make sure to wrap up warm as customers are more than welcome to enjoy the vaults themselves, selecting homemade cheeses, to either eat-in or take-away.

Whilst the cheese is definitely something that we are going to be checking out, we were intrigued to hear about the brunch menu Fraser has rustled up. Featuring a mix of contemporary dishes from Pulled Pork Bun’s to Chorizo with poached egg & potatoes, and Buttermilk pancakes that will certainly leave you feeling sparky at the start of the weekend. Combine this with the enticing breakfast wine and of course a Bloody Mary and who knows where the weekend might take you.

The menu is constantly changing, meaning you can mix it up each week and if all else fails, then there are always those cold vaults to return too…

The brunch menu is available every weekend.
