After weeks of speculation, the first inklings of the food on offer at Winterville has been released and here at The Handbook, we are not disappointed. For those that haven’t already heard Winterville, which is taking place in Victoria Park, seeks to re-boot the festive format combining outdoor ice rinks, huge ferris wheels and horse drawn carriages with spiegeltents (Dutch travelling dance halls), roller discos and craft beers.
No Christmas fair is complete without a mandatory food market going on at the side and Winterville’s will certainly not leave you wanting for more. With Voodoo Ray’s famous pizza slices and The Cheese truck on guard, your festive eating can officially begin and long may it commence. Make sure you make room for the undercover food hall where you can take home handmade good’s, pickles and cheeses. And if you are looking for a more exotic Christmas this year (who isn’t?) then try Deshi Rosti- a delicious Indian which will be serving British curries all weekend.
There will also be something for the Scrooges, in the shape of the Bar Humbug pub which will be blending apres-ski culture with an East End knees up and serving cocktails such as the pomenegranate cooler and the original hot toddy. Head to the ‘Meet the Brewer’ corner where you will be treated an array of craft beers as well as talks and tastings from master breweries. Of particular excitement is the salted caramel and hot buttered rum cider which is on the cards, which to be honest is just too much to resist.
Find your best Christmas jumper and head there now.
Winterville opens on 2nd December and will run until 1st January.

Florence was once kicked out of ballet for being a little too over-enthusiastic. She's just landed in London, and whilst she is not going to be the winner of Strictly Come Dancing anytime soon, she can still be found tapping her Chelsea boots all over the capital.
