It’s getting cold and there’s nothing we can do to escape the next few arctic months except embrace the festivities (Bonfire Night, Thanksgiving, Christmas etc) wholeheartedly. So pass us the mulled wine, let’s throw on an extra layer and head down to Canary Wharf’s outdoor ice rink.
But if sliding over frozen water is not quite your thing then rejoice in a new pop-up restaurant by restaurateur Des McDonald; Q on Ice. Open until 28th February, Q on Ice offers a wide selection of food and drink from the BBQ menu and raw bar. The new pop also boasts great views of the London’s only skate path, perfect for people watching and spying any fallers, as well as Canada Square Park’s iconic ‘Big Blue’ sculpture.
The menu comprises of the best seasonal produce, locally sourced ingredients and secret seasonings. Warm yourself up from the miserable weather with tempting dishes like Charred Cornish hot wings, Barbecue crispy duck in a pretzel bun and Seared tuna with Japanese horseradish. But remember, no laughing out loud when you see people falling on the ice rink!
