Start (Chinese) New Year on a High at The Shard

Chinese New Year. Hmm. What to do, what to do? You want an authentic experience but that doesn’t mean you want to be rattling around Chinatown eating cold dim sum and getting squished by snap happy tourists. Good thing that the Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard is putting on an authentic but indulgent experience then, isn’t it?

The festivities will take place between 18th and 22nd February and will include an awesome combination of Asian heritage, food and, of course, breathtaking views from the TING Lounge. Tuck into a veritable Chinese feast, with traditional dumplings and sweetened lotus nuts symbolic of the good fortune and prosperity for all, washed down with a glass of bubbles.

And if you want to raise your spirits (quite literally) even further, head up to GONG on the 52nd floor, where you can indulge in a specially mixed Lucky Goat cocktail; a culture clash of British gin with Chinese Shui Jing Fang white spirit and plum wine.

So, forget all your previous Chinese New Years (which have extended to eating Chinese takeaway and reading fortune cookies) and try something new. New Year, New You (for the second time…).
