If the dream of living in a fancy London apartment is just a distant, expensive fantasy then we have an alternative solution. Boutique hotelier Urban Villa has just opened its first property in the Great West Quarter development in London, combining boutique hospitality with the convenience and comfort of luxurious residential living.
Instead of the typical bathroom and bedroom scenario, you will find a lounge area complete with kitchen and fully functioning oven, stove and even dish-washer. Each of the 100 all-suite bedrooms also boasts an enclosed winter garden with floor to ceiling panoramic views which gives the building its iconic glass-clad, cylindrical shape. You can even open the doors and chill out on a lounger in the comfort of your own room.
The hotel is very contemporary and guests are encouraged to treat their suite as an apartment ergo the kitchen although you soon realise you need a kitchen as the hotel doesn’t provide breakfast which is a shame. You can buy food downstairs from BOKI Coffee Co. who make fresh sandwiches and easy bites all day though. There is also a bar downstairs called Sour Diesel which features cocktails by Soulshakers, the mixologists noted for their work with Meat Liquor, Glastonbury Festival and Quo Vadis.
If you’re in the area, Urban Villa makes for a great stop-off to kick off your boots and relax but it isn’t worth the traipse if it’s out of your way
Room rates start from £100 for a Studio and £135 for a Master Villa (including VAT).
