‘My idea of a good dinner is, first to have a good dinner, then discuss good food, and after this good food has been elaborately discussed, to discuss a good topic – with me as chief conversationalist’
Wise words from Winston Churchill, sounds like our sort of dinner too and Blenheim Palace’s, because on the 5th June they are hosting a Churchill inspired supper. The evening will begin with Champagne cocktails and smoked salmon blinis with Avruga caviar, on the Italian Garden Terrace, well how else would you start it? As Churchill so famously said, ‘ Remember gentlemen, it’s not France we are fighting for, it’s Champagne’ . Before moving to the Orangery for a four course dinner, which includes fillet of Beef Wellington, English strawberries, cheese and truffles.
After the meal a Churchill-esque character will bring to life the history of England’s most respected prime minister with a fantastic talk, which will no doubt include stories from his life at Blenheim Palace. The evening will then finish with guests retreating to the Water Terraces for cigars and port including Churchill’s favourites.
Guests will leave with a copy of The Quotable Winston Churchill: A Collection of Wit and Wisdom because we could all take life lessons from him.
