What other drink can say it caused a whole city to go temporarily crazed? Or is nicknamed Mother’s Ruin? None apart from beloved gin (the craze being the one that swept London in the first half of the 18th century when you could buy a glass for a few pennies).
London’s love of gin is still strong and to celebrate this Rivington Street Grill is holding a whole night dedicated to it in all its guises with their Gin Bop next Thursday. It also ties in with the fact that they have hit the 100 bottle mark on their ‘Perfect Serve’ gin menu.
Joining them will be Hendricks, Bathtub, The Botanist and Chase & Plymouth who will all be creating three gin-based cocktails including their take on the classic G & T. The Hendrick’s eccentric bus is also set to make an appearance on Rivington Street.
Tickets will not only give you a free cocktail but also a Rivington Fish n Chip cone and free entry to the tombola where prizes include a gin hamper with a bottle from each brand and £100 lunch or dinner voucher for Rivington Shoreditch. As one cocktail is never enough, all the cocktails will be a steal at £7 all night.
Providing the soundtrack for the evening will be Old Hat Jazz band that will be performing swinging tracks from the 20s and 30s because where there is gin there will be dancing.
So let’s raise a toast to gin and head to Rivington Grill.
