Everyday, we at The Handbook, long for lunch. We munch through our Sainsbury’s sandwiches with great haste in order to get back to our brilliant blog writing. Our post lunch tummies are usually satisfied. But today we just know we’re going to feel a little lacklustre as we’ve heard that the Ametsa with Arzak Instruction have launched their Michelin-starred afternoon tea menu at The Halkin by COMO.

Ametsa with Arzak Instruction features Elena Arzak – voted Veuve Clicquot World’s Best Female Chef in 2012. High five to girl power! Arzak collaborates with her father Juan Mari Arzak, Mikel Sorazu, Igor Zalakain and Xabier Gutierrez. A group of culinary experts not to be messed with.

This unique take on afternoon tea offers a Spanish twist on British favourites and has been inspired by the hallmarks of Basque cuisine. The humble sandwich has been replaced by the the delectable tomato and strawberry soup. And who doesn’t want spider crab tempura instead of cocktail sausages? This is about the only spider related thing we’d ever go near. The dessert menu offers delectables as lime custard, banana tartlet and chocolate with churros, a perennial favourite served with the Ametsa touch.
