Usually, the only disaster you hear about in a restaurant is some poor customer’s food turning up an hour late and stone cold. But Caravan Exmouth Market is going above and beyond to help improve the lives of people who are facing a real catastrophe. On Sunday 17th May, Caravan Exmouth Market is hosting a Nepalese Feast evening, a three-course meal inspired by Nepalese cuisine, to raise money for the victims of the recent earthquakes in Nepal.
Wonderfully, all the ingredients have been donated high-quality, local producers, creating a mouth-watering menu including Welsh Mutton curry with cucumber pickle, creamy coconut lentils and Nepalese potato salad. And Galub Jamun, Nepal’s answer to the doughnut filled with passion fruit sorbet and kaffir lime syrup, makes for a tempting dessert.
With all the proceeds going towards the Disasters Emergency Committee, and with even the Caravan staff donating their time, you can be sure of a good cause – and a full stomach.
The Nepalese Feast charity evening (17th May) at Caravan Exmouth Market is priced at £40 per person and includes the three-course set menu and a welcome drink.
