Chelsea Flower Show is almost upon us and whilst we’re looking forward to seeing the beautiful gardens and brushing up on our flower knowledge, we can’t deny that our other favourite part of the show are the floral inspired menus that grace the London restaurants.
And who better to get involved than Rabbit on the Kings Road given that their roots are firmly based in nature with their nose-to –tail cooking? To celebrate the show, they’re growing their own edible garden which will be filled with vegetables and as well as edible flowers and to prove (to all those doubters) that they are indeed edible, Head Chef and co-owner, Oliver Gladwin has created a floral menu which will be served at both lunch and dinner throughout Chelsea Flower Show.
Dishes include a wild duck and bacon salad with wheat berries, black current and a blossom vinaigrette, carrot hummus, lovage, kohlrabi, black sesame and grilled leek, chard yogurt, cobnuts and dandelion – if anyone has ever had the unfortunate experience of eating dandelion leaves as a child then you’ll know the taste is an acquired one at best, but we’re pretty certain Oliver will work his magic to make them delicious. To finish will be shortbread, strawberries and lashings of clotted cream, naturally.
