Today marks the start of London Fashion Week, so we hope you’re looking your best. You are? Great. Now our favourite way to celebrate anything is by eating of course, sporting event – eat, festival – eat, fashion – eat.

And this year to celebrate LFW moving to Soho, Yauatcha have collaborated with fashion designer Charlie May to create a limited-edition range of macarons and a petit gateau that reflect her SS16 collection that will be on show this week. These macarons aren’t in the usual rainbow colours, instead they are in the neutral and dark hues that emulate the palate of the line. The result is both striking – a pitch black sesame ganache macaron is particularly effective.  Other flavours include cinnamon and raisin, smoked salt caramel and our favourite a cheesecake cream with a blackcurrant pâte de fruit.  The Gianduja lemon petit gateau, a Gianduja mousse, layered with hazelnut and almond dacquoise and centred with lemon crème.

Illustrator Clym Evernden who has previously sketched Paloma Faith and Naomi Campbell will be sketching Charlie May live onto Yauatcha’s windows and the sketches will also appear on the Yauatcha’s online magazine and social channels.

If you needed any other reason to get a macaron it’s Friday and the weather is miserable, so really it’s a requirement.

The sketch and patisseries are available 14th – 27th September
