We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again; *whisper it* summer’s over. Whilst autumn may have you reaching for the mulled wine or a comforting Bailey’s by the fire, Duppy Share rum are ensuring you can keep with you a bit of summer warmth with a series of pop-up bar events from October to December.
Named after Caribbean ghost, Duppy, who, as legend has it, used to take the best of the evaporated liquid from the barrels as the rum aged – known as the Duppy Share. Canny little thing. This playfulness is reflected in the mix of cocktails being served up across the events, from bartenders showing off their take on each drink. Among the brands are some old favourites including Sipsmith’s 200 year old London gin but far more who are fresh on the scene. We are particularly intrigued by Black Cow – a smooth, creamy vodka made using – wait for it – the milk from a 250-strong dairy herd in Dorset.
Music comes in the form of Bestival DJs Sombrero Sound System and pizzas will be served up by Fundi Pizza from their hand built wood fired pizza. Make sure you purchase tickets in advance from their website. If you can’t wait till mid October, The Duppy Share run regular rum blending masterclasses on Tuesday nights at Merchant House, Bank.
The Spirit Social Winter Series is on Wednesday 14 October, Thursday 12 November and Thursday 17 December at the Maxilla Social Club, Notting Hill
