They’ve hosted feasts at Guys & Thomas’s, Truman Brewery, Tobacco Dock, The Sorting Office and now they are doing a Scandinavian Winter Wonderland at Shepherds Bush. OK, this isn’t the first time at this venue, but any event bold enough to return for a second run usually means the inaugural event was pretty good.
Converting unassuming venues into magical woodlands and wonderlands is what Feast do. On 5th November when summer is well and truly a distant memory, the Mediterranean garden will have been fully transformed into a Scandinavian forest. Surrounded by fir-trees, holly-covered pergolas and an 8 foot high Advent Calendar, families are invited to tuck into banquets of the best street food from producers including the paleo Feed Me Primal and wood-fired pizza guys, Tomattos. It’s not all innocent family fun though; a dirty Santa’s Grotto will welcome any adults who have been naughtier than they have been nice and who can later enjoy drinks from a Norwegian-style fishing cabin-turned-bar.
The Little Feast is open Wednesday to Sunday evenings and during the day at weekends, where live acoustic music, jazz bands and carol singers will set the tone for Christmas tree shopping and mulled wine sipping. If you’re thinking a weekend visit to Scandinavia (via a yard in Shepherds Bush) sounds a little chilly then you’ll be pleased to hear the winter wonderland is fully-covered and… wait for it, fully-heated. Brr-illiant.
Little Feast runs from Thursday 5th November – December 23rd at Shepherds Bush Yard, Goldhawk Road, Shepherds Bush, W12 8HA
