W London ‘Goes Dutch’

They gave us Edam cheese, tulips and clogs – for which we are forever grateful and therefore we can’t think of a country more deserving of a themed takeover than the Netherlands. From 9th to 23rd October, the public areas of W London in Leicester Square, will be restyled into an ‘Ode to Amsterdam’ where guests will be able to try out a Dutch menu, Dutch-inspired cocktails, film screenings plus get the opportunity to win a Dutch bike.

All this is for a reason though as it celebrates the opening of W Amsterdam, as part of an empire expansion from W Hotels Worldwide. So why not grab yourself a Dutch Courage Cocktail in the bar and immerse yourself in the Dutch experience? Food on the menu will include classic dishes like Gouda Kaassouffle (deep fried gouda parcels), and if anyone has ever been out drinking in Amsterdam you will recognise Patatje Oorlog, also known as ‘war fries’ which are fries topped with a satay sauce and fried onions.

If you want a little more culture then make sure to grab a screening of some of the cult Dutch films being played in the luxury 39-seater screening room, including Control by Anton Corbijn (showing on 13th October) The Vanishing by George Sluizer (showing on 16th October) and Black Book by Paul Verhoeven (showing on 18th October).
