One huge room filled with lots of stall holders means only one thing in our eyes; free tasters. The annual Foodies Festival is returning cloaked in red and sprinkled with snow, for the festive season and if walking around sampling chutneys, mince pies and Christmas cake sounds like an ideal way to spend a day then get yourself to Brick Lane’s Truman Brewery the weekend of 27th – 29th November.
150 award-winning artisan producers, gin masterclasses in the London Gin Theatre and demos by celebrity chefs make up the UK’s biggest food and drink festival. A champagne ski bar presents itself as the perfect place to escape the madness, rest your feet (and your credit card). The Chefs Theatre is bringing together London’s top chefs; Michelin-starred Adam Simmonds and Steve Drake as well as MasterChef finalists, winners and the guests we are most excited to watch and learn from, 2015 Great British Bake Off stars, Nadiya Hussain and Ian Cummings, heading up the Cake & Bake Theatre. For vegans, a dedicated vegan area will make you very welcome, the Elf Cookery School will keep kids busy with cookie decorating and a Chilly-Eating Competition will test the tastebuds of the biggest chilli fans. Live music, entertainment and carol singing from local school children completes the festivities.
