Voga at Coq D’Argent review – what we thought

Earlier this year we covered the launch of Voga at Coq D’Argent when they began their summer series of classes, well now winter is here and with it comes the festive version of voga. For those of you that don’t know, voga is mash up of traditional yoga and voguing – 80s dance moves with a Madonna feel. The classes take place in the restaurant’s heated terrace which is surprisingly warm given its location.
Lodge_dArgent_terraceMusic is played to give you a beat to work to as dance moves are incorporated to your normal routines, if you’re a hardened yogi you might find the extra dance moves a tad pointless but alternatively if you take part in yoga regularly a little voga might be a fun mix up. Guaranteed to work deep into the muscles whilst increasing the pulse, this series offers new challenges and surprises for those who breezed the vogue style arm co-ordination of series one and two. The class lasts an hour and take place on the last Sunday of every month (the next date is 20th December), finishing at 12pm it times perfectly with lunch for which the Coq d’Argent restaurant is a perfect spot to get a little something to eat.

_93A0224The restaurant is a relaxing combination of smart and casual, especially near the bar area where fluffy throws and wintery give it a festive feel. The cuisine is French and offers a spot of indulgence although my tarte tatin aux carrottes was a little heaving on carrots, even though they were well glazed and cooked. The sea bass was over salted and unfortunately had to be left but the dauphinoise potatoes were delicious and hearty. A nice spot to refuel before heading out, back to the ground floor.
