It’s always an exciting thing when two greats are reunited i.e. Bill & Ted, and now former colleagues Tom Aikens and the Typing Room’s Lee Westcott have come together for one blissful night of cooking magic. The pair will introduce a 5 course menu, created by them, where they explain the skills involved in creating the Modern European dishes.
The two chefs first met at Tom Aikens’ eponymous two Michelin-starred restaurant, where afterwards saw Lee Westcott travel around the world and working with Jason Atherton before coming back to the UK to become Executive Chef of the hugely successful Typing Room in Bethnal Green. Back home in London, Tom Aikens has been opening a series of Tom’s Kitchens in Somerset House, Canary Wharf, St Katharine Docks and Chelsea where the evening will take place, as well as heading up projects in Hong Kong, Dubai and Oxfordshire.
Dishes on the exclusive menu will include Scallops with fermented grains and lardo; Smoked and Braised Beef Cheek with baked beets and beet mash; and Sea Trout with kohlrabi, sprouting broccoli and pear. Over on the sweet side sees a dessert of Chocolate and Blood Orange.
