The Christmas trees that stood so prettily a week ago are now sorry sights lying on pavements all over town. The festive magic has well and truly gone – all that remains is the evidence on our waistline and maybe the odd hard-to-reach set of fairy lights we’ve forgotten to take down. Postpone the gloomy nights at home and head over to Oxford Circus where, thankfully, the crowds of shoppers have dispersed (slightly). Whether you are putting yourself through 31 teetotal days or not, Riding House Cafe is catering to your wants and needs with a naughty-but-nice afternoon tea.
Revitalising juices have been added to the menu for the hard core detoxers, and for those who don’t want to make the grey month any more miserable, a range of hard tea cocktails – mango tea infused rum, Aperol and grapefruit will momentarily transport you to hotter climes. Accompanying your drink of choice (no judgement either way) will be either a slice of red velvet cake or granola bar to provide the perfect hit of naughtiness.
Set menus available throughout January from 4-6pm at The Riding House Café, 43-51 Great Titchfield St, London, W1W 7PQ
