Fashionably Late Lunch at Le Caprice

By now you’re probably aware that British Vogue is this year celebrating its centenary; 100 years of bringing Brits the latest fashions, from the covetable to the curious, with an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. Responding to such a cultural milestone, many of London’s best-known hotels and restaurants are offering packages combining a dose of fashion with a glamorous dining experience.

Le Caprice are celebrating the occasion, whilst also celebrating their own 35th anniversary – double whammy. With tomorrow marking the first day of London Fashion Week, fashion will be hard to avoid so reward a full day of fashion with a well-deserved meal and glass of Champagne. A late lunch and glass of Veuve Clicquot is part of the offering at Le Caprice, who also have been given rare archived imagery by Vogue (not displayed in the exhibition) to sit on the wall alongside existing David Bailey portraits in the Art Deco inspired dining room. The menu is two courses so choose between a starter of moules mariniere or post-meal mousse aux deux chocolates or lemon posset with cardamom shortbread for a fashionably late lunch. Selections from the main course include salmon fishcake with sorrel sauce or wild mushroom risotto. In addition to tickets to the Vogue100: A Century of Style exhibition, the two-course meal and Champagne, diners will leave armed with a limited edition British Vogue A3 print, and maybe a whole new sense of style…

Monday – Friday 2pm-6pm and 9.30pm onwards until Friday 6th May
