London is buzzing with pop-ups and limited edition dishes. If you can’t keep up with the Creme Egg cafes/fully loaded milkshakes/rooftop cocktail bars then settle for a trend a little less…rapid. A couple of pop-ups are coming to Market Yard for six week durations from 10th February; enough time for you to plan an imminent visit, but not so quick that if you blink you’ll miss it.
The people who brought us Scandinavian wonderland Little Feast before Christmas are back, this time as Market Yard. Known for popping up in unusual locations across the city (warehouses, squares, car parks) they are going back to the tried and tested ground of Shepherd’s Bush to bring West Londoners previews of up and coming restaurants, with concise, specially created menus. The first pop-up comes from Foley’s Tasting Kitchen. Foley’s will dish up exotic street food in an experimental style, in anticipation of their Fitzrovia restaurant which is due to open in June. Cornflake crusted chicken and sweet potato fritters can be enjoyed in a suitably informal setting in the Arch bar or more at slightly more formal tables in the Pergola from Wednesdays to Sundays, 10th February to March 20th.
Come March 23rd until 1st May, the food baton will be passed over to Brixton pizza people, Made of Dough. If you like your pizzas doughy, charred and uncomplicated, these are for you. Bookings are available (for both restaurants) in the Pergola restaurant whilst the Arch bar is for walk-ins only. Once Market Yard has run it’s course, Little Feast will return for the summer months.
Market Yard, Wednesday 10th February until Wednesday 4th May at Shepherd’s Bush Yard, Goldhawk Road, W12 8HA
