You may or may not have heard that recently the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday. A pretty impressive feat regardless, but given her manic schedule and high-pressure job it’s all the more impressive she’s still up and about as much as she is after over 60 years on the job.
Since the Queen is in the public eye a lot people seem to think they know about many aspects of her life, but do you know the first restaurant she ate at following her coronation? In case the title of this article hasn’t given it away, the answer is Quaglino’s.
To celebrate 60 years since they had the honour of hosting Her Royal Highness, which falls nicely in line with her birthday, Mickael Weiss, the restaurant’s Head Chef, and her team are giving the public a chance to eat what they reckon the Queen would have been served all those years ago. Their specially-designed menu offers traditional food with a modern twist and allows diners to follow in the footsteps of our monarch. Jump aboard your carriage (or prepared mode of transport) and head to Quaglino’s on the 12-14th May to enjoy the likes of Coronation chicken or beef stroganoff – a classically British feast fit for a Queen.
