There’s nothing better than a dose of healthy competition. It brings people together, gets the adrenaline pumping and leads to an overwhelming sense of personal achievement. A lot of competition revolves around sports, strength or intellectual superiority, and there’s not a lot of space for those just wishing to showcase their gentlemanly prowess. Until now, that is.
This summer, our city’s most elegant and un-athletic are gathering to compete in an event of “sporting ineptitude” in order to be crowned a champion of old-timey raucousness. The point? We’re not entirely sure either, but it’s going to be jolly good fun!
Competitors will battle it out in a series of gruelling tasks sure to make even the New Zealand rugby team quake in their boots. Events such as ‘Tea Pursuit’ and ‘The Corby Trouser Press Challenge’ will take place while guests sip on cocktails courtesy of Bourne & Hollingsworth, while quintessentially British foods such as hog-roasts and afternoon tea will be served throughout the day.
This Saturday, June 16th, guests are encouraged to come along to Bedford Square Garden, Fitzrovia, in their finest Traditional period dress (you know, the one you definitely have knocking about in the back of your closet…) and totally immerse themselves in a day of old fashioned fun, frolics and food and cheer on your favourite gent.
Tally ho, chaps!
The Chap Olympiad will take place at Bedford Square Gardens, Fitzrovia, on Saturday 16th June.
