Variety is the spice of life. William Cowper was completely correct when he made this statement in the 18th Century and it’s equally as true now. No one wants to wear the same shirt every day, drink the same cocktail every night or, say, only ever eat oysters. J. Sheekey know this, and to make sure no one gets the wrong end of the proverbial stick, they’re rebranding in order to reflect the wide variety they have on offer.
Formerly J. Sheekey Oyster Bar, the seafood specialists will be reopening for Summer as ‘J. Sheekey Atlantic Bar’, showing off a brand new terrace and special lobster menu featuring crowd favourites such as the lobster and shrimp burger and the lobster and shisho tempura.
To further mark the occasion, Quentin Blake, illustrator to countless Roald Dahl classics, has created a series off bespoke illustrations for the menus. Unfortunately, giant peaches won’t be served, however a host of cocktails, special edition and classics alike, will be on offer alongside rosé, Aperol Spritz and the British institution that is Pimms. Enjoy them on J. Sheekey’s newly refurbished Ocean Blue terrace complete with comfortable dining chairs and canopy, just as a precaution against the ever-changing British weather.
J. Sheekey Atlantic opens today at 33-35 St Martin’s Court, WC2N 4AL
