The Handbook

This week saw the launch of Jar Kitchen’s new series of monthly supper clubs celebrating British produce. Taking the theme of land, fire, earth, air and sea, each month the restaurant will team up with a different supplier to create a three course menu with drinks pairings – we’ve seen the menus, you’ll want to make sure you get a ticket.

They kicked off with land this week when they teamed up with Walter Rose Butchers which means that July’s offering will be fire which will see them joined by Cabrito to serve up a fiery menu including the likes of goat ribs and burnt tangerine cheesecake. Come August, Mash Purveyors will be serving up the likes of roast Potimarron (squash) with cobnuts, goats curd, griddled vegetables and gremolata as well as Lincolnshire poacher popcorn and a basil gimlet.

Pheasant with toasted sourdough pureé, blackberry game jus, potato foam and a crème Anglaise with candy floss, bee pollen and honey will be part of Clarence Court’s menu which is all about air. To finish in October will be Capital Foods, who will be serving prawn star martinis, griddled octopus and fish roe blinis for their sea themed supper club.

Can’t choose? We wouldn’t judge you if you went to them all…

The supper clubs will be taking place on the first Monday of July, August, September and October
