Who doesn’t carefully curate their outfit for a trip to The Savoy? Even more so when the visit in question is afternoon tea. The hotel’s historically fashionable credentials encourage even the most sartorially challenged amongst us to dig out our smartest shoes and now they are teaming up with British couturier, Suzie Turner to add another reason to give your new dress its debut outing.
Twelve of Suzie Turner’s creations will be on display in The Savoy’s Thames Foyer on the first Wednesday of the month – a space which has seen numerous fashion shows in its time, including the critically acclaimed second collection from Christian Dior way back in 1947. The models wearing Suzie’s dresses have been taught to walk in the traditional ‘salon’ style of 1950s fashion shows to give the 40,000 hand-sewn feathers and 27,000 Swarovski crystals on the dresses a chance to shine. In addition to a welcome cocktail, guests will get to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea, made fashionable for the occasion by Executive Pastry Chef, Ludwig Hely. Think eclairs decorated with Suzie’s sketches as well as scones, cakes and sandwiches. High tea has never been so chic.
The Savoy Salon Couture High Tea With Suzie Turner launches on Wednesday 6th July at 5.30pm and takes place on the first Wednesday of the month thereafter.
