Summer’s not over till the fat lady sings and we haven’t heard any singing… The 1st of September supposedly marks the first day of Autumn but knowing British meteorology, it’s not that simple. Soho’s Courthouse Hotel know this and are giving us a little bit of hope with the extension of their Bombay Sapphire Sky Terrace takeover, which is staying open until November. With views of the streets below (hello, Liberty) it makes a change from the ground level cafes that we often turn to when the need a drink and we need it now.
The terrace is hosted in partnership with Bombay Sapphire so when you need a place for after-work drinks or a takeaway cappuccino with your name wrongly spelt just isn’t going to cut it, you can head up to the rooftop and take some time out. Once the Indian Summer is over, the branded Bombay Sapphire blankets and trademark blue velvet cushions will make the terrace cosy, whilst an all-weather cover will stand up to the elements. Drinks-wise, Bombay Sapphire is obviously the star of the show, most with a summery twist like the raspberry and basil G&T but if you prefer something classic, try the Star of Bombay with vermouth and lemon peel. Food comes in the form of small plates, nibbles and sliders with chips. Bombay Sapphire’s stint is over in November but the terrace isn’t going anywhere – keep an eye out for the next drinks brand which will be announced soon and take the terrace into Christmas.
Soho Sky Terrace at Courthouse Hotel is open Tuesday to Sunday, 3pm-10.30pm, weather permitting.
