Ever had an instance where you wanted to borrow your best friend’s little sister to have an excuse to go to a movie or event you’re sure you’re too old for? Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. Luckily, Sheraton Grand London Park Lane recognises the inner child in all of us, and is putting on a celebration in honour of one of our favourite classic children’s films. And for those of you who can’t bear the thought of going anywhere without your beloved pooch, well, this just might be the best event ever.
Last Monday marked the 55th anniversary of the beloved film 101 Dalmatians and to celebrate, Sheraton is launching a Dotty Dalmatian Afternoon Tea and even appointed a modern-day Pongo and Perdy pair to be the official mascots of the hotel for the event. And for a celebration like this one, it just wouldn’t be right to leave your beloved pooch at home, so in addition to the tea the hotel is offering up a dog-friendly package for pampered pups to enjoy a Mayfair hotel stay with their owners.
The Pongo and Perdy-inspired afternoon tea features a delectable lemon mousse and Oreo biscuit combination to create Perdy’s paw, while blueberry cake and violet cream make up Pongo’s dog bowl. And as for Cruella de Vil, everyone’s favourite antagonist will be honoured with a melt-in-your-mouth white chocolate cream brownie and a dotty chocolate sponge and raspberry jelly. Dalmatian-inspired savoury treats will include a polka dot macaroon made of confit salmon, crème fraiche and dill, as well as smoked trout mousse with English mustard and pickled red onion hot dog. Finally, there will be free range egg mayonnaise and watercress sandwiches and short rib and bone marrow hot pot. And don’t worry, they’ll provide a doggy bag if you can’t eat it all!
As for your furry friend, dogs (of all breeds) will be walked around the original movie set across the road in Green Park while owners are enjoying their afternoon tea. The first 20 guest dogs will also be gifted with a special Sheraton Grand doggy bag, which includes a number of luxury treats.
Sounds to us like missing out would just be ruff (sorry, couldn’t resist).
The Dotty Dalmatian Afternoon Tea will be served daily until 31st August in the hotel’s iconic Palm Court with sittings at 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm.
