We’ve all heard of, and done, wine tasting, beer tasting and even whisky tasting, but now it’s time to make room for gin. With the help of The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), guests are invited to partake in an immersive gin-tasting experience called “From Still to Bar” at one of London’s most talked-about venues. The Wine & Spirit Education Trust is the largest global provider of qualifications in the fields of wines and spirits, and this month they will be at the Punch Room at The London EDITION every night providing information on the makings of gin – they clearly know a thing or two.
Upon arrival, guests will be asked to don a pair of headphones so WSET Spirits Educator and The Cambridge Distillery’s master distiller, Will Lowe, can guide them through tasting a flight of the corresponding spirit, whilst pointing out what to look for and the key differences between each. Following this, visitors will be invited to choose their favourite of the three spirits, which their bartender will then use to create their signature cocktail based on that spirit. And if participants are thirsty for more knowledge, they can download a follow up podcast that describes their chosen spirit in more detail.
If gin isn’t your cup of tea, another leg of “From Still to Bar” will be taking place, exploring whisky at Showdown for the month of November. For more information on these events or to purchase tickets, visit the WSET website.
From Still to Bar will take place every night during the month of August from 5-7pm at The Punch Room. Book online in advance.
