It’s mid-August and suddenly our thoughts are turning to which winter coat we should go for this year and why we can’t even remember what our New Year’s resolutions were, let alone why we haven’t stuck to them. Stop. Rewind time. Ok maybe you’ve gone a bit far but suddenly it’s 1943 and everyone around you is wearing a beret and has a moustache. Welcome to the world of Maman le Mot, a secret immersive supper club experience from event organisers A Place in Time, the people behind The Tick Tack Club, coming to London Bridge this September.
The bunker-come-bistro venue is being billed ‘London’s worst kept secret’ – ironic when you consider your assigned role as a French secret agent at a time when war in Europe is raging. Guests will be encouraged to dress appropriately; think Breton stripes and garlands of onions and will be given French lessons on arrival – basically a quick talk on how to master the accent. Downstairs, a la bistro, guests will enjoy a three-course menu of French classics avec beaucoup de vin (with lots of wine) with cabaret and swing dancing to while away the hours. Just make sure you keep up the French accent, you really don’t want to be caught. Then again, the wine may help with that.
Maman le Mot launches 9th September and takes place every Friday and Saturday from 7pm-1am, with two (optional) dinner sittings at 7pm or 8pm.
