Next week might be half term for children, 5 glorious days off from lessons (really think they need to make half terms for everyone), but for us who have left the classroom behind, it’s the Silent Pool Gin pop-up at the Hoxton Hotel.
Launching on Monday, the Surrey based distillers will be taking over the indoor garden of the Hoxton Hotel, for a week long programme of events including tasting sessions with Master Distiller Cory Mason; brunches which include gin-infused salmon, bespoke cocktails and of course gin and tonics. If you just fancy coming in for a drink, then the bar will be open all week and Ian Goodman of Darkhorse restaurant has created a drinks menu which features classics such as the Red Snapper and the iconic G & T. Good news if you’re staying in the hotel as you get a free tipple during your visit.
It’s not just at the Hoxton Hotel either, three of Shoreditch’s top bars will also be offering specially designed cocktails that are only available next week, you just have to head to The Bull in a China Shop around the corner for discounted Silent Pool Gin and Tonics.
So yes, we might not have half term, but we don’t have GCSEs either anymore and we do have gin and that could just be substitute enough.
