Squid Kitchen Launch New Residency

If you fancy the experience of a Madrid food market but can’t leave London, you’re in luck. This autumn, Squid Kitchen is launching their new kitchen residency at 119 Lower Clapton. Having begun as a market stall, with a menu developed entirely around… you guessed it – squid, Squid Kitchen has hosted several pop up events and kitchen residencies. This residency however, is their first full venue kitchen and bar takeover since their launch in 2014.

Their signature dish is baby squid stew with piquillo peppers and sherry vinegar chickpeas, but don’t worry if squid isn’t your thing (although it’s in the name so you might want to question your choice) – their menu also features dishes such as spinach and chickpea fritters; beetroot, morcilla and manchego with walnuts, apple compote and sourdough and chorizo, apple and thyme sausage roll  Puddings include Tarte de Santiago, an almond tart with vanilla cream and a weekly changing cheeseboard to follow – got to love the cheese.  All to be washed down with a glass of rioja or Spanish G&T. Hurrah!

Squid Kitchen is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 26th November
