Autumn is a great time for produce from truffles and squashes to langoustines and game. So to celebrate the new season, restaurant group D & D have joined forces with Champagne Laurent-Perrier to launch The Wild Table a series of supper clubs, masterclasses and feasts all taking place throughout October.
You can find full details on the website of all the events taking place but here are three events next week that you should definitely get to. On Tuesday 18th South Place Hotel’s Executive Chef, Gary Foulkes, will be hosting a feast in the new private dining room, Peel. Sit amongst the silver birch trees and get stuck into the likes of suckling pig, whole roast duck and caramelised apple tart. Or on Wednesday 19th you’ll be able to join Sartoria’s Chef Patron, Francesco Mazzei, for a four-course dinner with an Italian twist. Start with cocktails made by renowned Italian mixologist Simone Caporale before sitting down to the likes of Grana Padano Riserva risotto with roasted pigeon and magliocco and wild turbot with pickled truffle and mushrooms. Award winning Head Sommelier Michael Simms will pair each course with a wine too. Then come Saturday 22nd you can forage for cocktail ingredients in Battersea Park with Botanist Gin before heading back to Bluebird for lunch and a cocktail masterclass.
Other highlights include a mustard tasting menu at Coq d’Argent, truffles at Orrery and Black Forest gateau at German Gymnasium. Basically it’s time to get eating.
The Wild Table will be taking place throughout at October 2016 at various D & D restaurants.
