Nothing beats the magic of Christmas when you’re a child. This Christmas, Secret Productions (the team behind Wilderness Festival) has teamed up with Greenwich Peninsula to let you relive your childhood with their Winter Festival.
Santa’s Grotto of Wonderment will be open to both children and adults, taking them on an immersive journey with mischievous elves along the way bringing the experience to life, leading to the Big Man himself. Join in on a singalong in the Amphitheatre or if you’re feeling the stage fright simply enjoy a performance, hot chocolate in hand. Perhaps a walk through the Enchanted Forest, which has been created in collaboration with celebrated artist Spencer Jenkins, is more your thing. The trees will be lit up with LED blossoms and there’ll be a series of ‘light trees’ to create a magical enchanted feel. Settle into the aptly named Snug Bar with your mulled wine or mulled cider, under blankets with hot water bottles, sat by the open fires – snug indeed!
No Christmas market or festival is complete without handcrafted gifts available for purchase… the Designer-Maker Christmas Market has gathered the best makers and craftspeople to the Peninsula – grab a few gifts whilst you’re there. All this adventure will no doubt get you hungry but save the roast for Christmas day because the market will have all sorts of food on offer, from ostrich burgers to wood-fired pizzas and homemade cakes.
The Winter Festival has everything you need to get into that festive spirit; it’s tradition, but with a twist!
A Peninsula Christmas at Greenwich Peninsula is open 3rd-22nd December
