First there was Boaty McBoatface, now there is Ballie Ballerson – no we’re not telling you about a polar research ship, no fun in that, we’re telling you about a ball pit which has just opened in Dalston and has just released more tickets…
Brought to you by the guys from the raucous NolaRola that hit Vauxhall this summer, Ballie Ballerson is an underground space themed ball pit filled with 200,000 plastic balls, inflatable rings and foam toys all set to a soundtrack of funk and soul from the DJs. The ball pit was arguably the best part of any soft play area as a child and now you can relive your lost youth, except this time you’ll be fuelled by E numbers and alcohol as they serve up retro sweet cocktails – we’ll be ordering the Dippie Dabberson, a mix of cherry brandy, sloe gin and magic dust. Head upstairs after for the likes of chicken kiev balls, fried cheese balls and Yorkshire pudding balls. All about the balls.
Come the weekend they’ll host bottomless brunches and, if they’re anything like NolaRola, they really will be bottomless. You get an hour in the ball pit with cocktails and games (ball pit hide and seek champion here we come) before heading upstairs for an hour of bottomless spaghetti and meatballs and more alcohol – when did you last have a Saturday like that?
If you’re thinking a load of people in an underground ball pit, inevitably sloshing drinks around sounds just a little unhygienic then chill, they have a ball cleaning machine which cleans 18,000 balls an hour… the GobbleMuffin.
