If there was a league of Christmas markets, then we’re pretty sure that Germany would win. They are the connoisseurs of bratwurst, chalets and gluhwein. Whilst we can’t send you to Germany, we can send you to German Gymnasium, as they’ve teamed up with airline Lufthansa to launch their winter terrace.
Opening next week and running until February the terrace will be decked out with fern wreaths, twinkling fairy lights, a dusting of snow and Nutcracker figurines. It’s got date night written all over it.
Created by bar manager Fred Tartas, the cocktails are inspired by Lufthansa. First Class is a mix of rum and homemade falernum, homemade ginger, soda and lime whilst the Mulled Convair 340 blends together hot red wine and dark rum with grenadine, oranges, lemons and spices – think of it like a Glühwein.
The menu will revolve around hotdogs made with currywurst and bratwurst and other German classics like roasted fresh chestnuts. Or if you want something a little more luxurious then there’ll also be caviar and oyster dishes, you know if you’re feeling luxe.
German Gymnasium’s Winter Terrace will be open from the 29th November to the end of February 2017
